Can I book a ride through Careem to another Emirate? Is it difficult?
Yes, you can book a ride to all Emirates with Careem but keep in mind a few government regulations when heading to Abu Dhabi.
Following the recent updates on entry rules for Abu Dhabi, you can now only pre-schedule rides from Dubai or Sharjah into Abu Dhabi with a minimum 1-hour buffer before pick up time using the City-to-City tile, which can be found on our app homepage.
This is to ensure we always allocate your rides to Captains who are permitted to enter Abu Dhabi either by having vaccinated or holding a time valid negative PCR or DPI test result. This will not affect the price as we offer fixed rates on all intercity travel across UAE.
The following are the most recent updates on entry rules for Abu Dhabi (subject to change):
- For PCR tests, entry into Abu Dhabi is allowed for 48 hours from receipt of a negative result.
- For DPI tests, entry into Abu Dhabi is allowed for 24 hours from receipt of a negative result.
- DPI test centres are available at the screening border.
- Exemptions are in place for those who have received the vaccine and hold valid proof. Read more here
Other Emirates do not require testing to enter.
