Your safety and well-being are our top priority, and we want to let you know the things that we are doing to make your life easier and help keep our communities safe.
To inform our decisions, Careem’s COVID-19 Response Team is closely monitoring the World Health Organisation (WHO), the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and local health agencies for the latest developments. We’re also following the guidance of local government and public health officials in each of our markets. We recommend you do the same.
What are Careem’s efforts towards cleanliness?
We are working around the clock to ensure that our Captains keep their vehicles at the highest levels of cleanliness. We’ve advised all Captains to regularly use hand sanitisers, clean wipes and disinfectants between rides to make sure germs don't spread. We’ve also shared guidelines with Captains on what they should do if they are feeling unwell.
What should you be doing?
In order to protect you and our Captains, we ask you to be mindful of your own personal hygiene and ensure you avoid physical contact with our Captains. Please continue to follow the guidance of your local government and public health authorities.
What happens with Customers or Captains that have been exposed to COVID-19?
We will temporarily block the accounts of Customer or Captains when we suspect exposure and symptoms of COVID-19.
Do you have the choice to cancel a ride if you suspect a COVID-19 Case?
You have the choice to use our platform and services as advertised. You have the right to refuse a ride if you have concerns due to COVID-19. In such an event you can reach out to Careem Care for assistance.
Does the Captain have the right to reject a ride if they suspect a COVID-19 Case?
