Simply follow these steps:
- Log in to the Careem app.
- If you do not have an existing account, you can create an account
- Choose Careem Bike Tile from the Careem App Services
- Select your preferred pass option.
- Once you have an active pass, you can check the Careem Bike station nearest to you on the app
- Go to the Careem Bike station, check the e-Bike status LED to confirm availability and unlock by scanning the QR code on the frame (avoid e-Bikes with a red ring light or low battery, as its unavailable).
- Scan the QR code on the e-bike frame and wait for the app confirmation to successfully unlock.
- Remove the e-bike from the dock by lifting the seat or pulling backwards on the handlebars and you’re good to go.
When does an e-bike ride start and end?
The ride starts as soon as you unlock the e-bike from the dock. The ride ends when the e-bike is docked back at any Careem Bike Stations, the 'End Trip' button is clicked in the app and trip ended successfully notification shown.
With any active pass, you can take as many rides as you like. If you wish to keep it longer your options are:
- Dock the e-bike at any Careem Bike station, click the 'End Trip' button, await the trip ended notification and then start a new ride by unlocking the same or another e-bike
- If you don't want to dock the e-bike within the allowed free minutes on your pass, you will incur per minute fees for every additional minute you keep the e-bike.
- Pass availability and pricing may vary based on seasonal periods and demand surges.
- Always check the app for the most latest pass availability and pricing.
Can I unlock more than one bike at once?
Yes. You can unlock up to 4 bikes at a time.
