If you see an outstanding balance (negative balance) in your Careem account, below are some of the reasons why that happens:
- Your chosen payment method has insufficient funds
- You gave your Captain less than the trip fare
- A trip fare was higher than the estimated amount and we were not able to collect the difference using the payment method originally selected
- A technical issue caused a transaction to fail
When an unsuccessful transaction occurs or you have a negative balance, you may not be able to book future rides. You can top up your wallet to clear the outstanding balance.
